Petals – 18 month old female White and Grey Rabbit

Petals came into RSPCA Walsall care in November 2009. Petals is an 18 month old female bunny. She is mainly white with a flash of grey marbling. Petals came into care as she was being neglected in he prevous home. When Petals first came into care she was very territorial because she had not been neutered and had been kept alone. Since coming into care and being neutered her personality is developing and she is not as territorial over her hutch. Like any rabbit that hasn’t been neutered, the hutch becomes a battle ground, but take them away from that and they are putty in your hands. It will just take a little bit of adjustment time to get her more used to being fussed and handled in a positive way.

You can see in this photo below that when Petals came in she had an untreated eye condition, this has thankfully now cleared up. When Petals went in to the vets to be neutered, they had a look at her teeth. They could see that in her life up to now she had been fed a very poor diet which had led to her having poor dental condition. She had a couple of spurs removed from the molars. We feel that with a good diet we can maintain the teeth a lot better but she will still need to have those teeth checked every 3 months.

We are looking to rehome Petals with a neutered male for company. If you feel you can offer Petals her forever home, please email us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk or call us on 0845 272 3570.

Esme – 18 month old female Grey Rex Rabbit

Esme is a stunningly beautiful and elegant 18 month old standard rex, her fur is extremely soft and thick it is like stroking velvet. So far Esme has an unsettled life moving from home to home before she arrived in rescue with her sister; however they were separated immediately due to them fighting.

Esme has calmed down alot since she came into care. Shes getting more friendlier by the day. Esme loves to play with toys and they keep her entertained for hours, you can often hear her throwing her jingle ball around the hutch, or see her chewing on her willow toys.

Rex rabbits are prone to sore hocks so need to have a very soft padded floor within their accommodation this can easily be achieved with a thick layer of soft hay. Esme is looking for a neutered male to share a forever home with. If you feel you can offer Esme her forever home, please call us on 0845 272 3570 or email us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk.

Echo – 2-3 year old female Grey Rabbit

Echo came into care as part of a cruelty/neglect case. She was taken into care by another area in May 2009 after being taken from a house where she was kept in dirty cramped conditions. She was transferred over to us for rehoming in December 2009. We estimate her to be 2-3 years old, she has been spayed, neutered and microchipped.

Echo hasn’t been shown much love or attention in her past so she is understandably nervous of new people. She needs to get to know and trust someone before she will start to become her true self. We need someone patient and understanding to give Echo the room to grow and blossom. She is a real sweetie and loves a head rub.

When she was spayed the vets found that Echo had a couple of small spurs on her back teeth. Hopefully with the correct diet this may correct itself, although Echo will need regular teeth checks when she has her vaccinations.

We are looking to rehome Echo with a neutered male for company. If you feel you can offer Echo her forever home, please contact us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk or call us on 0845 272 3570.

Ronnie and Snowy – 3-5 year old male and female Brown and White Dutch and White and White Rabbit

Ronnie and Snowy have been in foster care here at Walsall RSPCA for 2 years now. They came in seperately and were bonded in our care due to them both being lonely. Ronnie is a 4/5 year old neutered female dutch bunny and Snowy is a 3/4 year old male REW.

Ronnie was brought to us with her sister, but as they were fighting we had to split them. Snowy was a stray, his owners were located but didnt want him back.

Both bunnies are tame, especially Snowy. Ronnie prefers to do her own thing, but will have a fuss at her own level. If you feel you can offer Ronnie and Snowy their forever home, please call us on 0845 272 3570 or email us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk

Sooty – 2 year old female Brown and Fawn Mini-Lop Cross Rabbit

Sooty came into RSPCA Walsall care in January 2010. Sooty is a mini lop crossed with something that has given her the most amazing ears in the world. We are not sure of her exact age but she is a fairly young bunny at around 2 years. She arrived with fur mites and bald patches on her back where she had been pulling her own fur out in a desperate attempt to stop the itching. After just a couple of weeks and two simple injections to kill off the mites, her beautiful thick coat has regrown and you would never know that she ever had a problem.

Sooty is very confident and adventurous and has obviously been well handled in the past. She adores being fussed and cuddled and absolutely loves having her head and ears rubbed. She is relatively easy to handle and would be the perfect first time bunny for a new owner. Sooty is neutered and vaccinated and is looking for a forever home with a neutered male rabbit. If you feel you can offer Sooty her forever home, please contact us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk or call us on 0845 272 3570. Many thanks
