This is Brian. He is a 3 year old Rex and is a very special case, he has been in care for 2 years and a half years, originally coming in as part of a trio. His two hutch mates have since passed away. Brian was to be a long term foster as his owners were posted to another country, through the forces. They have since decided that they will not be taking Brian back on their return and have asked that we re-home him.

Brian has a long term health condition in the form of snuffles and has to go to a home with a bunny who already has this condition. Although this causes him no day to day problems and he is very healthy, he would be contagious to a rabbit who does not have the condition. On a daily basis Brian has a snuffly nose and occasionally this can flare up causing him to require a short course of antibiotics. However this is rare.

Brian is a loving and very inquisitive rabbit. When out in the garden he will race round and leap in the air with excitement! He also really likes his food and is a little chubby. We are desperate to find Brian a loving home that will allow him to live out the rest of his days being loved and cared for. Please get in contact if you would like to know more, Brian is currently being fostered with Charlotte.

Flops is a lovely affectionate English Lop about a year old, she is still with her young litter but will soon be ready for neutering and re-homing. Can you offer this lovely lady a home with a lovely husbunny for company? Or would you consider keeping her with one of her sons?

Flops has one daughter and three sons all will be available for re-homing upon neutering at about 14-15 weeks. Flops daughter will leave with a neutering slip as she has to be 5-6 months old before she can be neutered. All these bunnies are friendly and love attention and would make a great addition to any family.

Crackers came into RSPCA Walsall care in February 2010. Crackers is an 10 month old (April 2010) Himalayan rabbit. He came into care as his owner was unwell and no longer able to care for him. He has been neutered and vaccinated and is ready for a female companion now. He came in with a tiny hutch but is loving his new large hutch and his new found freedom in the garden.

Crackers is a lovely friendly little lad. We are looking to rehome him with a female companion, and being as he’s such a handsome boy, I’m sure it won’t be long before a girl falls for him.

Herbie came into RSPCA Walsall care as a neglected little bunny. He is extremely underweight and he was very nervous on arrival. He had been kept outside in a coal house with no natural daylight so wasn’t used to human contact. He is a black and white Dutch cross Lionhead and is 8 months old.

Herbie had to have a dental due to the poor diet and lack of hay while he was growing. We are hopeful that with a good diet now he will not need a dental again, but only time will tell. Herbie’s confidence is coming on leaps and bounds. He is really coming out of his shell and showing us what a lovely little boy he is. He is a very friendly boy and likes a fuss. Herbie will be neutered shortly and is already vaccinated. We are looking to rehome Herbie with a neutered female bunny for company.

If you feel you can offer Herbie his forever home, please contact RSPCA Walsall on 0845 272 3570 or email us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk. Our branch is run by volunteers so please be patient.

Susie is a lovely young Lionhead cross female only about 1 year old. She is a lovely rabbit who likes to rearrange her litter tray to suit her and not always wanting it put where I put it. She enjoys playing out in the pen and would be an ideal partner for some lonely man bunny. Susie is also neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped ready to be re-homed.

Petals came into RSPCA Walsall care in November 2009. Petals is an 18 month old female bunny. She is mainly white with a flash of grey marbling. Petals came into care as she was being neglected in he prevous home. When Petals first came into care she was very territorial because she had not been neutered and had been kept alone. Since coming into care and being neutered her personality is developing and she is not as territorial over her hutch. Like any rabbit that hasn’t been neutered, the hutch becomes a battle ground, but take them away from that and they are putty in your hands. It will just take a little bit of adjustment time to get her more used to being fussed and handled in a positive way.

You can see in this photo below that when Petals came in she had an untreated eye condition, this has thankfully now cleared up. When Petals went in to the vets to be neutered, they had a look at her teeth. They could see that in her life up to now she had been fed a very poor diet which had led to her having poor dental condition. She had a couple of spurs removed from the molars. We feel that with a good diet we can maintain the teeth a lot better but she will still need to have those teeth checked every 3 months.

We are looking to rehome Petals with a neutered male for company. If you feel you can offer Petals her forever home, please email us at enquiries@rspca-walsall.org.uk or call us on 0845 272 3570.
